2009 Biomass Program Peer Review Meetings

The U.S Department of Energy, Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, Biomass Program will be conducting a detailed biennial Peer Review of its activities between March and July of 2009. The process will begin with the Platform Reviews of seven technology areas during the months of March, April, and May. The process will wrap up in July 2009 with a two-day full Program Peer Review conference. The Peer Review is required of the Biomass Program in an effort to obtain independent assessment of the Program’s current Research and Development project portfolio.

The 2009 Platform and Program Peer Review meetings provide stakeholders interested in state-of-the-art biomass energy technology development an opportunity to learn about these federally funded activities. Additionally, this process affords the DOE an opportunity to transparently obtain meaningful feedback regarding taxpayer-funded Program activities. The information will be useful as the Biomass Program considers future funding and portfolio balance decisions.
